Herman

Here’s a little something I’ve wanted to try for quite some time: a drawing done using nothing but cheap office supplies. I don’t know what it is about office supplies, I’ve always felt a strange attraction to them. I think I got it from my father. For this experiment, I couldn’t think of anyone better to draw than Herman Drone, a character from my good friend, Ryan Sullivan. This isn’t the first time I’ve drawn Herman, he’s just so fun to draw.

For this I used yellow ledger paper, white correction fluid, ball point pen, and various colored highlighters. My scanner didn’t want to pick up the hot pink I used on Herman’s nose, knuckles, ears, and the bus sign. I had to use a little Photoshop magic to try and bring it out better. As you can see from the sign, the highlighter had a funny reaction with the ball point ink on-top of the correction fluid. Kinda annoying, but, at the same time, I kinda like it.
