Life at the Factory

Well, Ryan and I are extremely late this week. So late in fact that it is now next week. This here is not just my submission for the latest weekly doodle, it is also the first drawing made with my new tablet computer. I finally got me a Samsung Series 7 Slate, it has a Core i-5 processor and a digitizer stylus for on-screen pressure sensitive doodelin’.

I was going to get the new Surface Pro, and I actually did (for about two weeks.) However the stylus on Microsoft’s flagship slate was a tad glitchy and lacked support for Photoshop. Microsoft says they’re gonna fix that problem (sort of) but it all comes down to a pissing match between the house of Gates and Adobe over which pen drivers are best. I didn’t feel like spending my hard earned credit limit on a device that might maybe get updated to be the most awesomest tablet this quarter.

Instead I opted for the older but tested Series 7. And so far I’m pretty happy. My two biggest issues are the screen resolution is just a tad low and the palm rejection is a little off. I might have to cut up a cheap glove to solve that problem. Oh well, small price to pay for what is essentially a portable Cintiq.
